The Oklahoma State Homebuilder's Association offers a variety of certification programs for member builders so that they can keep abreast of the latest and greatest building technology, national building trends, mortgage programs, appraisals, ethics and other construction related fields. To be a member of some of the programs, builders must attend certain "Required" classes yearly, as in the case of the "Certified Homebuilder" program below.

The "Certified Builder" program* consists of a series of  minimum requirements that a home builder must achieve to be a "Member in Good Standing", such as: a minimum time in business, a minimum number of  homes built per year, financial stability, and experience. Central Oklahoma Homebuilder's Association serves as a professional organization for Oklahoma's finest homebuilders. To become a member builders must meet a minimum criteria as a professional and high ethical standards. COHBA, as is often referred to, also offers "Continuing Education" classes in many aspects of the Home Building induatry to its members, including: Building Codes, Mortgage Trends, Sales Marketing, Insurance, etc. It also acts as liason with Capitol Hill on a variety of issues affecting the consmers and builders. They also organize the "Parade of Homes" every year.
